Diwali Clothing Drive

India

India - September 29, 2017

Last Diwali, our APIMA team in India brought smiles to faces of underprivileged children by hosting a clothing drive. This year, they stepped up once again and donated a bunch of clothes and household necessities to the kids and people in villages.

Diwali, or Dipawali, is India's biggest and most important holiday of the year. The festival gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness. This festival is as important to Hindus as the Christmas holiday is to Christians.

Seed Bombs

India

India - July 15, 2017

A seed bomb is a little ball made up of compost, clay, and seeds. The compost and clay act as a carrier for the seeds so they can be launched over walls or fences and into inaccessible areas such as wasteland or railways. By launching wildflower and native seed bombs, we give our pollinators some much needed, healthy, and organic habitat to help them thrive. Market Track's team in India made and distributed approximately 20,000 seeds!
